Emma J Hawkins
Emma is a short statured performer with a bag of tricks bigger than herself, performing across Australia in events, festivals and productions from Shakespeare to Burlesque, including appearances as The Divine Miss Em, infamous for her dancing prowess.
In 2009, Emma ran away with the circus as a tap dancing, stilt walking acrobat (CircusOz). Since then, she has continued to perform her circus duo, Little and Large, with strong-woman Mel Fyfe. Emma began her career as an actress, playing The Fool in King Lear (Round Earth Co), Solange in The Maids, as well as roles in STC’s Volpone and Arena’s Eat Your Young. Emma then branched out into the physical theatre world with PlazaReal (Branch Nebula & UTP) and her own award winning dance theatre piece, One More Than One. She’s previously dipped her toe into the world of musicals in The Fireraisers and playing Dolly Dot in Sideshow Alley.
Emma also runs her own company Atypical Theatre Company, embracing fair representation of disability in the Arts.
In 1999, Emma received a Diploma in Arts – Small Companies and Community Theatre.
Television and film credits include Bogan Pride, Pizza (SBS), Star Wars and Wolverine.
Emma is delighted to be playing Fleck in this production, and looks forward to the challenge of finding her voice….
